Laura's Step One Success Story

Laura's Step One Success Story

At 64, Laura considers herself to be a fairly healthy person.

“I have never been overweight or experienced high blood pressure or blood sugar issues,” she said. “However, my cholesterol has always run high…even when I weighed 105 lbs and was a runner.”

Facing no other risk factors, Laura’s doctor informed her that her issues with high cholesterol were likely hereditary and that there wasn’t much she could do about it.

With that information, Laura started to look for ways that she could at least try to lower her cholesterol, despite her doctor’s feedback.

Then, one day, while on Facebook, she saw a video for Step One Foods and decided to try the products.

“My cholesterol level last year was around 261,” she said. “And this year was down 50 points simply by following this program. This program works.”

With her improved cholesterol levels, Laura plans to continue eating a healthy balanced diet and exercising as often as she can.

Here's how Laura prioritizes healthy longevity:

Eating for health: Cranberry Pecan Bars - “I love carrying the bars in my purse when I travel. They are delicious and very convenient.”

Daily moderate exercise: Walking and mild weight-lifting.

Social interconnectedness: Travel and theater. “ I'm an actor both in community theatre and professionally. My favorite social activity, other than acting and singing, is traveling with my husband. We especially enjoy touring Europe.”

Inner sense of purpose and joy: Religion. “What gives me inner purpose is serving the Lord, and looking for opportunities each day to be kind.”
